Do for one…

What you wish you could do for everyone.

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.

At New Beginnings, we believe God places opportunities around us every day to love our neighbors, encourage others, and meet practical needs. Through Do for One, a portion of every offering is set aside so that our church family can respond to those opportunities and be a blessing to others.

If you know someone who is facing a difficult season, has a specific need, or could simply use encouragement, we invite you to submit a request.

Because there is more need than any one church can meet, requests are reviewed prayerfully and according to available resources. Submitting a request does not guarantee assistance.

What Do for One Is Designed For

Do for One is intended to provide practical help and encouragement through one-time acts of generosity for individuals connected to New Beginnings Fellowship Church.

This ministry is designed for regular attendees of New Beginnings Fellowship Church to identify a legitimate need and submit a request on behalf of someone in our church family or connected community.

Examples may include:

  • A specific need resulting from an unexpected hardship

  • Assistance during a temporary crisis

  • Practical support that helps someone take a next step

  • Encouragement for an individual or family walking through a difficult season

Most approved requests are modest, one-time needs that can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Requests outside the scope of one-time assistance or ongoing financial support will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be redirected to other care or ministry pathways.

Important Guidelines

To steward our resources well and help as many people as possible:

  • Do for One is designed for temporary needs rather than ongoing financial support.

  • Financial assistance is generally limited to one request per household within a 12-month period.

  • Requests require time for review, verification, and approval.

  • Do for One is not intended for emergency same-day assistance.

  • Requests submitted immediately before a shutoff, eviction, court date, or other deadline may not allow enough time for review.

  • Applicants may be asked to provide documentation and demonstrate that available personal, family, and community resources have been explored.

When financial assistance is approved, New Beginnings will normally distribute funds directly to the appropriate recipient rather than to the applicant.

How Requests Are Reviewed

Each request is considered prayerfully and confidentially. We consider:

  • The urgency of the need.

  • Whether the need is specific and verifiable.

  • Whether the situation reflects a temporary hardship or an ongoing financial need.

  • Whether assistance is likely to provide meaningful help.

  • Whether other resources may be better equipped to address the need.

  • The availability of outreach funds.

In some situations, we may recommend pastoral care, community resources, financial coaching, or other forms of support rather than direct financial assistance.

Thank you for helping us identify opportunities to love our neighbors and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
